About Us |

We are a group of Miriam students who are concerned with drug- related issues here in our country. Our group became aware and concerned with “drugs” and the “drug dependents” after our first trip to Damascus; which was just last August 2005. We were exposed to the situation to which the Damascus residents were experiencing. At our recent visit just this April 2006, we became more insightful and informed to their needs other necessities. Thus, we decided to help and make a change even in our simplest ways. So we decided to put up this website for them (Damascus Online). Although, they already have their website besides this, we still thought to make a newer version, more updated and evocative. Our goal in making this website is to let others know the causes and effects of drugs, and also to share some of the experiences of the residents in Damascus. We hope that this website can help open the minds of people regarding drug issues, and to influence them to do the same as what we are doing, help the poor victims who are under the influence of drugs. |
